The beige box on the bottom of the stack is my Grifftek 4-Axis CNC Controller for my Sherline system. This controller will drive all 4 Axis of my Mill or Lathe and has support for threading (with spindle encoder) and multiple inputs and outputs will be connected to sensors and air/coolant/mist and vacuum devices.

The CNC Controller was built for me by Bill Griffin of Grifftek. I added the color LCD monitor to display the output from the AhHa software. I use the top monitor both as a close-up/inspection monitor and for video conferencing. I can also record machining operations from one of 3 close-up micro-cameras. In the top-left video window, you can just barely see the Z axis of my mill looking down on the end mill.
The video conferencing capability has allowed me to show my milling to other people in real-time across the internet and to get their feedback. I have traded a few PC based video conferencing systems to people in exchange for their training in various CNC operations. |
